RENEWVIA ENERGY EXPANDS AFRICA TEAM AS IT ACCELERATES GROWTH PLANS

As Renewvia Energy’s portfolio of work grows rapidly in Africa, the company has been busy expanding its teams in Nigeria and Kenya over the past year, with several new employees coming on board and also being promoted.


The company has recently commissioned several new minigrids, with s strong pipeline of projects under development, and is forming Renewvia Energy Africa, for all of Renewvia’s African subsidiaries and assets. Through this new entity, Renewvia is in the process of raising an additional $350 million in equity and debt to further capitalize 1000 microgrids over the next five years. Renewvia looks forward to the continued expansion of its team to meet the growing demands for its off-grid solar solutions, especially in remote areas in need to reliable, affordable, clean energy.


Kennedy Odhiambo joined Renewvia in 2017 as a minigrid site agent and was recently elevated to a role of Customer Service Representative. Kennedy has significant technical knowledge and is a solutions-oriented employee who is skilled at listening to customers and solving issues in a timely manner.










Joy Bolu is Renewvia’s Administrative Assistant for the company’s Nigeria projects. Joy is a solar energy practitioner and information technology enthusiast who studied mathematics and statistics at Federal University of Technology Minna and has worked in the cybersecurity and IT space. She has previous experience as a solar support technician and a technical administrative officer. Joy received a digital training certificate on project development from GIZ.







An experienced civil engineer, Adewumi Adebola Samuel has joined the Renewvia team as a Project Site Manager in Nigeria. His responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of construction on minigrid projects as well as community relations.










Ugochukwu Uba is an electrical engineer for Renewvia, where he is responsible for the deployment and maintenance of solar systems in Nigeria, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and optimal performance of each site. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering from Federal University of Technology Owerri, has a number of certifications on hybrid and renewable energy systems, and is a GIZ certified mini grid developer.







Brian Nabiswa is an accountant for Renewvia. He is responsible for accounting and procurement of goods and services, ensuring all accounting records are maintained, and statutory obligations are filed with the relevant bodies and remitted timely. Brian is licensed by the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB) – CPA 4 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from The Technical University of Kenya.
