February 22, 2021

Renewvia has expanded its team in Africa with three new key hires. Julie Greene joins as Director of Finance and Operations, Noémie Métais joins as Renewvia’s Africa Finance Lead and Adebowale Dosunmu joins as Engineer. Renewvia is growing its team at a critical time: the company recently commissioned two new minigrids in Kenya and received five new grant approvals for minigrids in Nigeria, with several more projects in the works.

“Julie, Adebowale, and Noémie bring deep experience that will enhance Renewvia’s Finance, Operations and Engineering teams, and I am delighted to have them onboard,” said Trey Jarrard, CEO, Renewvia Energy. “This is a time of tremendous growth for Renewvia with a substantial pipeline of new projects, and their experience will help us realize the substantial opportunities in the Kenya and Nigeria markets.”

Julie Greene brings to Renewvia a wealth of experience and insight into emerging market start-ups, business operations and finance, gender lens approaches and the complexities of building and scaling impact. Julie co-founded a social enterprise providing vocational training and employment access to East African women, led the development of an impact investing venture focused on funding early stage social entrepreneurs in Sub-Saharan Africa, and regularly provides coaching and mentorship to early-stage entrepreneurs, with a focus on women founders and leaders. Julie earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Oxford.

Noémie Métais has four years’ experience in the development sector in the Eastern African region. This includes two years in project management for the AFD, the French Development Finance Institution. She also worked as a consultant for an NGO, Energy Generation, to help in resource mobilization, and Altai Consulting to produce reports for donors on the business environment in Somalia. Noémie earned a Master’s in Corporate Finance from Audencia Business School.

Adebowale “Debo” Dosunmu is a Solar PV Engineer with over six years of progressive experience facilitating timely delivery of project requirements in the renewable energy industry. He comes to Renewvia from Pirano Energy in Lagos, Nigeria, where he was Lead Engineer. Prior to that role, he held engineering positions at Daystar Power Energy, the Lagos State Electricity Board, and Astech Energy Solutions. Adebowale has demonstrated repeated success designing innovative PV systems using a mix of power sources in both the public and private sectors. He has an immense capacity for leading coordination between multiple jurisdictions to ensure compliance with building codes and new system design requirements.
